An All-America goaltender from Boston University, Jim Craig was the backbone of the 1980 United States’ "Miracle on Ice"
Olympic team that won the Gold in Lake Placid, NY. Jim’s 39 saves led the Americans’ to a 4-3 upset victory over the heavily
favored Soviet Union and his stellar play continued as Team USA beat Finland to capture the Gold. During the Olympic tournament,
Craig allowed only 15 goals en route to an undefeated 6-0-1 record and was the top goaltender posting an amazing 2.14 goals-against average.
Immediately following the 1980 Olympic Winter Games, Craig turned professional and thereafter played in the National Hockey League with the
Atlanta Flames, Boston Bruins and Minnesota North Stars. In 1999, Craig was inducted into the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame
as one of the top international net minders of all-time.
For the past 17 years, Jim has worked as a marketing service consultant and is presently a Broker/Business Manager at Valassis Communications.
Jim has been inducted into the Valassis Salesman Hall of Fame and Soaring Eagle Club and is consistently one of Valassis’ top business producers.
Jim attended Massasoit Community College and Boston University where he studied business and marketing.
He resides with his wife and two children in his hometown of North Easton, Massachusetts.
