Jimmy Pedro, Monster's first Olympian employee is a three-time Olympian in the sport of judo. With Monster
as an official sponsor of the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games, Pedro has served an integral role in the creation of the
Team 2002 Volunteer site for the Salt Lake Organizing Committee (SLOC) and
the TeamUSAnet U.S. Olympian career site for the United States Olympic Committee (USOC).
Pedro's vast knowledge and experience of the Olympics and its athletes has helped foster key relationships with the USOC, the Salt Lake
City Olympic Committee (SLOC), the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and other sports governing bodies around the world.
Pedro is the current World Champion in judo, holding the #1 ranking. He has won more gold medals in international competition than any
other American in the history of the sport. He competed in the Olympic Games in 1992, 1996, and 2000, capturing the bronze medal in Atlanta
in 1996. Pedro is also a two-time gold medalist at the Pan American Games, a five-time U.S. National champion, and was a five-time winner of
the USOC's Male Athlete of the Year for Judo.
Born in Danvers, MA, and currently residing in Lawrence, MA, Pedro attended Brown University, where he garnered the distinction of being
on the All-Ivy Team in 1990 and 1993. In 1993, he was also the All Ivy Scholastic Athlete Award Recipient. Pedro graduated from Brown in
1994 with a BA in Business Economics.
