ATHLETIC SUCCESSES:
Kendall has been wrestling since age five. He wrestled throughout high school and was a member of the team at Oklahoma State, and he qualified for the 1992 Olympic team prior to his senior year in college. He finished sixth in Barcelona in 1992 and continued on his path to success, eventually winning the Gold Medal in Atlanta in 1996.
CAREER PATH:
Kendall was fortunate to have a mentor who helped him get started in business. After the 1996 Games, he moved to Boston, audited some business classes, and began interviewing. With the help of his mentor, the father of a fellow wrestler, he accepted a job with Merrill Lynch and has been with the company since April 1999.
KENDALL'S WORDS OF WISDOM:
"You are truly one of the most unique individuals on this Earth. Your experience as an Olympian will open more doors and create more opportunity than you can imagine. Do not settle for anything less than what you expected on the playing field."
"In my short time in this new career, I have found that passion and love for what you are doing is probably the most important aspect of the transition from the Olympic arena to the corporate office."
