ATHLETIC SUCCESSES:
Tim represented the United States at Olympic and World Championship Rowing regattas from 1993-1996, winning numerous National Championships and international medals. In 1996, he was ranked the Number one sculler in the United States, and was selected to the U.S. Olympic Rowing Team for the 1996 Games in Atlanta, where he won a Silver Medal in Quadruple Sculls.
CAREER PATH:
While an undergraduate at Connecticut College, Tim worked as an Athletic Center Night Supervisor, and as an Admission Committee Senior Interviewer. After graduation, he decided to pursue a medical degree and worked as a Research Assistant in various areas, including Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine, and Neurology. He also worked as a Laboratory Technician doing DNA research. Tim spent two seasons coaching the Tulane University Varsity Rowing Team and is currently pursuing his M.D. at the Tulane University School of Medicine.
TIM'S WORDS OF WISDOM:
"Enjoy the moment in the sun. It seems like you are a few years behind your peers when you get out, but years from now, you will forget all the frustration and the hardship you endured."
"The most difficult adjustment I faced with post-Olympic life was accepting the change from being the best in the world to the low person on the 'business team' and the realization that I was very replaceable."
