Team 2002 Highlights
Training Schedule
- Area which contains personalized training schedules for each volunteer candidate and enables them to make adjustments and modifications online to their personal schedule.
What's Your Story?
- To build a sense of community and provide an opportunity for volunteers to share their experiences, volunteers were invited to submit a short essay that explains what made them want to volunteer and be a part of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and Paralympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City.
- During its first two weeks, "What's Your Story" received entries from nearly 250 volunteer applicants who have a wide range of backgrounds including:
- Former Olympians wanting to share their excitement.
- Salt Lake City residents proud to show off their city.
- Volunteers who worked at the Sydney and Atlanta Games.
- Everyday Olympic fans who will never forget Billy Kidd, Franz Klammer or the 1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team, and who seek to build new memories.
- Humanitarians excited for the global unification of nations, and the opportunity to share in the excitement of pure sports competition.
Polls
- SLOC administers polls to learn more about its volunteer candidates and to better understand and meet their needs. Below are the results of a recent poll responded to by 3,615 participants (from May 18-July 14, 2001).
